Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, starring Rajkummar Rao as the well-known public prosecutor, has completed its first six days in theatres with a steady, if modest, run. As per trade figures reported by Sacnilk, the film has earned around ₹15.95 crore net in India so far, with a worldwide gross of roughly ₹21.40 crore.

Prahaar day-wise box office collection (India net)
- Day 1 (Friday): ₹2.35 crore
- Day 2 (Saturday): ₹3.15 crore
- Day 3 (Sunday): ₹3.65 crore
- Day 4 (Monday): ₹2.00 crore
- Day 5 (Tuesday): ₹3.30 crore
- Day 6 (Wednesday): ₹1.50 crore
The film showed healthy growth over its opening weekend, and the Tuesday jump suggests that word of mouth and discounted ticket days are helping. The drop on Wednesday is normal for a mid-budget film in its first week.
What is Prahaar about?
Directed by Avinash Arun and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Prahaar tells the story of Ujjwal Nikam, the special public prosecutor in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case. The courtroom drama covers the attacks and the trial that followed. Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Lalit Prabhakar and Ashish Vidyarthi play key roles.
Tough competition at the box office
Prahaar is fighting for screens with big releases like Jailer 2, Drishyam 3 and Yami Gautam’s horror comedy Nayyi Navelli. With fresh Hindi films arriving on 23 October, its second weekend will decide how far it can go.
Why this matters
Real-life courtroom stories have a loyal audience in India. If Prahaar holds steady in week two, it could become another example of a content-driven film finding its audience slowly rather than through a big opening.
